Faced with a shortage of local talent able to operated its advanced manufacturing equipment since its arrival in Galesburg, Pegasus Manufacturing has invested countless hours in local educational outreach at all levels to develop pathways into the modern manufacturing workforce for aspiring local citizens.

After several years of hard work, the fruits of our labors are starting to appear. At the high school level, nine students were chosen to comprise the first CNC training class at Galesburg High School’s Galesburg Area Vocational Center. That class is taught in part by Chris Whitehead, son of Pegasus co-owners Ray and Ruth Whitehead.

Pegasus’ interns are also prospering from the experience they’ve gained on the shop floor. Be it through job offerings at area manufacturers or continuing on to higher education in engineering, these students are just the latest glowing examples of the positive impact Pegasus is having on the surrounding community.
